Bound in genuine white leather, the book is presented in a luxurious clamshell case covered in deep blue Van Heek Finesse cloth and adorned with a striking Hellkite Drake artwork by Paul Scott Canavan.

About the Author

Over her two-decade career, Keza MacDonald’s writing on video games has appeared in nearly every major publication covering virtual worlds. She is currently the games editor of The Guardian and was previously founding editor of Kotaku UK. She wrote the first-ever English-language reviews of both Dark Souls (at IGN) and its predecessor Demon’s Souls (at Eurogamer). Her enduring fascination with the series shows no signs of abating. Her latest book Super Nintendo, which explores the cultural impact of games through the franchises of Nintendo, was published by Guardian Faber in 2026.

Jason Killingsworth is the founder and creative director of publishing house Tune & Fairweather. He is also the co-founder and creative director of Chisel, a culture magazine exploring the virtues of beauty, obsession and play. His celebration and critique of the Souls series has appeared in Edge, Official Xbox Magazine UK, Official PlayStation Magazine UK and Paste. He wrote the Edge magazine cover story that unveiled Dark Souls II. He lives in Dublin, Ireland, with his wife and two children.
